Prepare a programme for the sector which will be a component of the country global fishery development policy. The Programme’s global objective is fight against poverty through a greater availability of cheap animal proteins. This will be achieved through an increase in fish production, promotion of aquaculture activities through professional training, new production and commercialisation techniques for aquaculture products.

The specific project objectives include :

1. Update the list of existing aquaculture enterprises and evaluate their needs in terms of training and new technology
2. Strengthen the professional association of aquaculture farmers
3. Promote technical assistance in the areas of fish processing, quality assurance, commercialisation
4. Identify the needs in the area of investments for aquaculture farms
