The project brought a complete diagnosis of the Uruguayan fisheries (including aquaculture) sector under multidisciplinary points of view: biological, technological, social, economical and legal. This diagnosis led to the formulation of an overall coastal management plan for the country, with the integration of sustainable fisheries in general coastal activities.
